Lumbini is a famous religious place in Nepal. Even it is famous all over the world not only in Nepal. Peace of symbol, Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini. Lumbini lies in the Lumbini zone in the Rupandehi district. Buddha was born in 563 BC in the Shakya family from Mayadevi in Kapilbastu palace when she was going to Devdhaha Maitighar in Lumbini's beautiful garden. He was a prince of Kapilbastu state. One day he left the palace because he saw an old man on the way. After that, he felt the world is full of sorrow. When he saw that world than he thought his luxurious life is not good, he left the palace at the age of 29 and he left his wife Yasodhara and son Rahul at the midnight. When he left the palace he gained Boddhi knowledge after six years. Today, follow his preaching and knowledge of those who are Buddhist. Thousands of people come to visit Lumbini because it is the birthplace of Buddha. It is a holy shrine place of Buddhists. The historical and major high Pillar is the Maya Devi temple, Janma Smarak Sila, Ashok Stambha, Maya Devi statue, Shrine lake, Akhand Santidip, etc. According to the religious and historical background, it is notified 1997 AD in world heritage. It is 22 km far from Bhairahawa Siddharthanagar to Lumbini garden in the west. Similarly, it is 300 km far from Kathmandu and 197 km far from Pokhara.
